I have always been a fan since my father took me to the BOP vs. Lions game in 1971 at Tauranga. I always remember my father talking about players like the Maniapoto brothers with reverent tones. For me as a 7 year old that Bay pack were like man mountains!

I love the Bay and have been a staunch supporter for the whole of my life. Although I am only 19 years old I have witnessed great pleasure and pain while supporting the beloved Steamers. The highlight for me would have to be the promotion back to first division and that historic game in Wellington back in the division where we belong. The low point would have to be that day in 1996 (even though it didn't happen).

Although I live in dirty scumbag Auckland, I am from the epi-centre of the universe, otherwise known as Opotiki. I have been a true and loyal devotee of Bay of Plenty rugby since the age of 11. When at that time in 1982 Bay of Plenty beat the touring Wallabies 40-16. This was a truly great day in my life and in the lives of many others. I remember the joy all those around me were experiencing and I knew then that I had stumbled on to something truly great.
