It's set to be Tauranga's biggest game of rugby in four years and, for one shadowy group of Steamers supporters, the warm-ups have already started.
The Bay of Plenty Mafia - the Steamers' most official unofficial supporters - are counting down the hours until they can resurface to cheer their team on against Southland at Baypark Stadium tomorrow night.
"They're definitely gonna do it," said die-hard Steamers supporter and Mafia member Honki. "Playing at home - it's the crowd advantage."
Honki, who would not reveal his real name, has barely missed a Steamers match this season.

The Fan arrived at McLean Park, Napier last Friday evening and observed that the cheapest seats were $20 a pop, no discount for kids. For $10 ($5 for kids) you could sit or stand on a grass bank. Having pondered whether it would be more entertaining to view the local Art Deco architecture, I chose to stand on the grass for two hours. The Fan now regrets this hasty decision.

John Moore brought up 50 games for the Bay on Friday night against Hawke's Bay. After debuting in 2000, John saw limited game time once Sorenson and Upton took over locking duties. He played briefly overseas but was back in blue and gold in 2007 after both Sorenson and Upton left the province. Last season was a struggle for the whole pack but this year Moore and Retallick have been a major force in our rise to the top four. John follows his father to 50 caps for the Steamers and he always gives 100% for the Bay cause.

Colin Bourke recently played his 50th game for the Bay. Joining from Hawke's Bay before the 2004 season, Colin came on as a replacement for Paul Tupai during the second half of our Shield victory and soon made the Number 8 shirt his own. So far Colin hasn't been able to crack Super 14 despite being selected once for the Highlanders squad and hopefully he will be playing Super 14 in 2009. Colin is the ultimate Mister Versatlie, making the hard yards off the back of the scrum, running with the backs, booming touch finders down the line and also taking over the goal-kicking on occasion. Here are a few photos from Colin's career to date.

Apparently we deliberately lost a game on Friday night having worked out we wanted to play Southland in the quarter-finals. Well done boys. Righto, make your plans now to be at Baypark on Saturday night - 7.35pm kickoff. Let's pack the place out and make some real noise. The Union has announced that it is $15 entry for adults, $5 for kids and sit where you want. Good move on their part and no reason why we can't pack that main stand.
