The Bay of Plenty Wasps emerged from the game with the Waikato based Harlequins on Wednesday (23 June 2010) with a solid victory.
Played under lights at Hinuera, the first half went point for point, with the Waikato selected team taking a narrow 19-17 lead into the half time break.

Whakarewarewa and Rangataua both remained in the race for the Bartercard Baywide Premier playoffs on Saturday (19 June 2010), albeit in contrasting circumstances.
For the second occasion in three weeks Whakarewarewa posted a cricket score - when they ran eleven tries on there way to defeating Te Puna, at Whaka headquarters. However it wasn’t all one-way traffic with the Western Bay visitors grabbing six touchdowns.

A strong line-up, selected from the recent PGG Wrightson Sub-Union series, will represent the Bay of Plenty Wasps when they take on the (Waikato) Harlequins in their annual match-up.
The game to be played under lights at Hinuera on the 23rd June 2010 is another step in the selection process for the 2010 Bay of Plenty Steamers, who will contest the ITM Cup, which kicks off in late July 2010.

Two of the teams in the relegation danger zone, posted victories in the Bartercard Baywide Premier competition on Saturday (12 June 2010), to give their sides a little more space from the bottom of the points ladder.
At Maramatanga Park, Te Puna finished with a seven-try victory against cellar dweller Te Teko. While the final whistle score line of 47-15 would suggest an easy victory, the reality was that the home side had to defend like Trojans, throughout much of the match.

The visiting Irish rugby team will enjoy a experience that they will treasure for a lifetime, when they arrive in Rotorua to play New Zealand Maori, as part of the Maori Rugby Centenary year celebrations
On arrival in Rotorua on Sunday (13 June 2010) the Irish visitors first port of call in the Bay of Plenty will be to visit the Te Papaiouru Marae at Ohinemutu to receive a traditional Powhiri of welcome.
The Powhiri, which is special part of New Zealand culture, is reserved for guests of honour, with the 2005 British Lions the last international rugby team to be accorded the mark of respect.
