We have all had times when we can’t watch a game live and have to rely on other ways of finding out the score. I was given permission from the BOP Mafia to miss the Auckland game to attend a cricket coaching course and I am very grateful to the Mafia for allowing me to attend (and I am sure my kneecaps will recover over time).

Points from the London regional meeting of the BOP mafia 01/10/2003.
- The London Branch applauds the logistics branch of the mafia for the safe delivery of membership packs to the UK. No reported incidents of misplaced membership packs. Tee shirts have been seen in London Central, Penge, Crystal Palace, and Barking. At all times ID card checks were made and passed. |

A busy and bewildering two weeks in the life of the BoP Mafia. To find ourselves giving a standing ovation at half time at the Rotorua International Stadium after the Mighty Western Bay Finance Bay of Plenty Steamers (MWBFBOPS) were leading 42-10 was outstanding. Unfortunately the Mafia were missing a certain JP who found himself whisked into a corporate box with free booze, and more free booze thanks to his employers.

It was time to introduce a member of my family into THE FAMILY. Young BabyPie had reached an age where she needed to know real FAMILY values so I took her to the magnificent WBF Stadium (otherwise known as Luigi’s) to meet the Don and his henchmen (and women). After an obscure initiation ceremony which included some mumbled words from the Don (something about birthright and 1976) she was given the formal attire of the FAMILY and accepted by the group. Bizarrely for a supposedly secret society, her photo was then taken for a newspaper.

The day rose bright and sunny, well I think it did anyway, considering I was flying out of Christchurch after an extended snowboarding holiday so I am assuming here that it was sunny at the Mount…Anyway the day rose bright and sunny as the Mafia lads once again headed down to the fortress at Western Bay Finance Stadium, scowling and hurling abuse at any cows they saw along the way…
