The Bay went down 25-20 to Auckland despite the visitors losing a few players to injury. Once again the post half-time sleepiness took over after the Bay had gone into half-time 13-3 ahead. In the end Auckland broke us open out wide. It was all locked up until a few minutes from time when a poor kick was returned by Auckland and they won the race to the line. The Bay remain in the top 4 but face a tricky trip to Christchurch on Thursday followed by games against their rivals Southland and Hawke's Bay.
