It was a great game !!
The Bay have improved a helluva lot since I saw them last (against Manawatu). Don't forget Waikato won the competition last year and boasts some well known names. Also several of the tries The Bay conceded were soft tries and the Bay blew a few opportunities with the bounce of the ball or a forward pass. Its also worth noting that we were down to 14 players for a while with a sin binning.
Several of the backs had blinders and the lineouts were 100% better than in the past. The Bay really didn't deserve to win....the Waikato forwards ground us down, The Bay missed too many first up tackles and lost possession too often but the there were plenty of pluses to come out of the game and I personally came away from the game happy.
